Beginning in 1964, Permacrete the family business quickly became the 'go to' operation for quality, solid set plastering and building in SE Queensland. Grant has over the decades been instrumental in the development of quality restoration procedures for many projects suffering the effects of "Concrete Cancer" an unfortunate consequence of living in close proximity to the sea.
Salt incursion to various building materials is a real yet often hidden problem in many coastal regions and the Gold Coast is not immune. “Grant the Builder” as he has been fondly named by the Gold Coast Hot Tomato Radio Station, after his unique coordination of the Gold Coast first reallife "Renovation Blitz", after the tragic death of Kane Bennett in early 2015.
Permacrete has been instrumental in many community projects since the late 60’s, some of which you’ll find more about under the 'Community Projects' heading. Grant personally has always made himself available to tackle jobs that are too difficult for others to handle. Especially those that need specialist treatment to be resolved. Grant and his team have travelled Australia to trouble-shoot those difficult jobs and offer advice and expertise when called upon. Having lived his whole life on the Gold Coast, Grant has a list of reliable and trusted trades and suppliers with which he feels are the most suited to work with and if Grant can’t help you, he has the connections and knows where to go to do so.
